The day that the wall fell, West ran to Berlin.

He had heard they'd open the boarder today, but didn't think they actually would. Regardless, as soon as he woke up in his hotel room, he started to run. And he didn't stop until he stood in front of the broken wall.

It didn't take long until he knew where his brother was, as their country unified, they could feel each other's presences, something they had never felt before. So they quickly found each other.

"Noah, you're so big!" East said, as he hugged his little brother as tight as he could.

"Of course I am, I'm 15!" West responded, returning the hug even tighter.

"15... I missed two years of your development?" East asked, tears flowing freely down his face.

"Not your fault," West said as tears started to form in his eyes as well.

"I'm struggling to come to terms with that, but you know, you didn't have to get this tall," East said, breaking the hug to look at his little brother's face. They were now the same height.

"You wear glasses now?" West asked as he wiped his own tears.

"Comes with age," East explained, letting his tears flow freely.

West didn't respond, only hugging his brother again.

It took about three hours of them hugging and crying for them to calm down. When they did, they slowly walked over to West's hotel room. He'd booked one with two beds just in case.

"You know, it wasn't that bad the last year. I just hope Soviet can recover too," East explained, a smile, that he bore since they started walking, not fading.

"Why do you care for him?" West asked, genuinely unsure.

"Because he's not at fault for most things. He even defended me when I came to live with him, so I kinda feel bad that he seems like he's dying. I don't think he will, but still, it's awful to see anyone fading like he is," East explained.

"But he treated you horrible beforehand. I don't get it?"

"You don't have to."

They walked in silence the rest of the way.

When they finally got to the hotel room, the two broke down in tears again.

"I made it!" East said hugging his brother even tighter than before.

"I can't believe it!" West said, hugging his brother loosely, as they fell to the ground in exhaustion.

They sobbed loudly on the floor for another hour before they finally calmed down again.

"I'm still unsure if I believe this," East said as the two sat down on one of the beds.

"Me neither."

The two took another week to finally process what had happened, to finally realise, that they were together again.

But this was different than before. They weren't used to each others habits. East flinched how West used to, West was much more confident and the house wasn't a mess anymore. Everything was unlike they'd expected. But they didn't want it to go back to how it used to be. They just didn't know why.

At least they now had each other.
